WIFI access is available throughout the hotel. We have managed to secure a preferential room rate for Seattle Club attendees of £85 per person per night, including breakfast. If you wish to book one of these rooms, please quote 'Seattle Club' when booking (offer subject to availability). To book a room, please go direct to the following website: https://www.conferencebookings.co.uk/delegate/NGISEATTLECLUB2008 For further information on the Thistle Hotel in Neville Street, please see the link below: http://www.thistle.com/hotels/newcastle/ Other hotels are available in central Newcastle, but no other preferential rates have been negotiated. You can still book other hotels through the conference bookings website. Registration Details and Costs The cost of the conference is £95. This includes Registration, refreshments, lunches on the two days of the conference and an evening meal on Monday, 1 December (there is no additional cost for the evening meal this year – it is included in the registration fee). On-line Submission of Abstracts All abstracts should be submitted using the form on the Seattle Club website. Studentships for 2008 As a general rule, only those with their names on an accepted submission can attend Seattle Club conferences. The exception is five places we have available as Studentships for 2008. Seattle Club Studentships are intended for PhD students at the beginning of their projects and similar 'early stage' researchers (including clinicians developing their research, trainees in professions related to intellectual disabilities, research assistants on new projects, etc.). Such individuals will be interested in and committed to research in the field but will not yet have completed a study from which they can present data (and whose name therefore does not appear on a poster or oral presentation). Studentships are bursaries that will cover the full registration costs (i.e., not travel or accommodation) for the conference. Applications should be made to Professor Richard Hastings using the form here. In the event that the number of applications exceeds the number of studentships available, names will be pulled from a hat to decide the award of the studentships. The deadline for applications for the 2008 Seattle Club Studentships is 17th October 2008. 2008 Conference Contact details: Pat Blakely e-mail: seattleclub2008@ntw.nhs.uk We look forward to welcoming you to Newcastle in December |
